Only got home from late night futsal match just before, where our team put in the best performance of the season beating the league leaders 10-4.
I scored a goal for myself and played keeper for the 2nd half as our keeper was away.

I played pool today for the first time this semester. In the first game, I was two balls up with the black one to go. I had it right in the corner, next to the hole. I got it in.. but my white ball flew off the table, meaning i lost. The next game i lost... The third game was horrible. I lost and didn't get a ball in. Then this rule was sprung on me which I had never heard about.

Coming from 'The science of pub pool' rules...

The 'Pants' Rule
If a player loses a game without having sunk any of his own balls he must walk or run a lap of the table with his pants down. There are two opt outs for the pants rule: girls do not have to do it, and a player can buy his way out with beer (a pint or jug, generally up to the incumbent.)

Having not sunk any of my balls in, I was forced to do a lap around the pool table, in the pool room at uni, with my pants down to my ankles. I was considering chickening out.. and of course I couldnt buy my way out (no beer and im not a girl..), so i did it, while the two old ladies at the counter were distracted by new customers. I did cheat a little though, instead of having my pants around my ankles they went down to my knees. I was lucky there weren't many people around today, no girls either.

It's been a bad start to the week :(

Close enough.. I think im slowly turning into a banana. I've forgotten to speak mando. I am absolutely terrible at it. Last night when i was downstairs in the kitchen, my grandma came out to see who was making so much noise. I struggled to string a few chinese words together to make a sentence telling her that i was just putting a bowl in the sink... she was like wahhhhhhh? o_O???? At that moment I tried to run away.. but she insisted on me telling her what I was trying to say. And eventually it came out in a bit of a mumble. Loss of self confidence right there...

Someone recommend me a good Taiwanese drama to watch?

Asian Masterchefs

Sorry everyone, havent been on the net much lately because i've been capped. Anyway, the recent season of MasterChef Australia has just finish with the winner being Adam Liaw. It is quite interesting that Asians, especially of Malaysian heritage, have done extremely well in this competition, with Adam Liaw, a half Malaysian, coming first in the 2010 season and Poh, also a Malaysian coming 2nd in the 2009 edition. Also, an honorable mention to Alvin Quah, another Malaysian contestant.

Could their success be attributed to the multi-cultural society in Malaysia? With people with native Malay backgrounds, people of Indian heritage and people which have Chinese ancestry, the food in Malaysia is both diverse and unique, often a mix of these cultures.

Perhaps their success just comes from the judges lack of knowledge of Asian cusine. For example, Adam Liaw's egg custard with pork is a dish that my mum and grandma often cook at home to eat with rice. Not saying that they are as good a cook as Adam, but it is quite a simplistic dish to cook. I could probably cook it... That dish was something that the judges had never seen or tasted before and rated quite highly.

Anyway, congratulations to Adam on winning MasterChef. He thoroughly deserves it.

They have gone with one that looks very similar to the one they wore many times in their history including the 1946/47 season kit. United's new kit has gotten rid of the black V on the front and has now included a white collar.

In the Kokoda match with Hawthorn wearing a one off jumper to raise funds for the Kokoda Track Foundation, Hawthorn were able to hang on to win by 2 points over Sydney. It's close frantic finishes in matches like these which makes me love going to watch the footy live. With less than one goal difference in the dying moments of the game, your heart beat accelerates, the adrenaline starts pumping, you start going into madness with everyone contest possibly affecting the outcome of the game. You and everyone in the stadium try to will your team to win, to push your team further. The buzz around the ground grows, the decibel levels rise, the time ticks on. You immediately become friends with those supporting your team around you as you all share the same emotions. Not knowing how much time is left until the final siren creates a fear within you that the other team could score a goal and potentially win the match. But when that final siren goes, and your team has won, the excitement overwhelms you. You instinctively get up off your chair and jump for joy, fist pumping the air. The massive grin on your face tells it all. Five minutes after the game your hands are still shaking. I've lost my voice.

So today we got our accounting midsem tests back...

It wasnt that great.. about half the class failed. Zack our substitute teacher said it was discouraging.. our class had 1 HD, in one of his other classes he had 3/4 of the class get a hd. Do our results reflect on the performance of our previous tutor? Or is it that we're all lazy and cbf? Perhaps the statistic that does reflect on our previous tutor is that out of his 3 classes, approximately 60 ppl.. only 1 person scored a HD and in all the other classes, about half the class failed too. In my opinion.. our tutor is just too weird... our classes arnt fun. Accounting isnt fun. Perhaps this is the reason why we all ceebs.. With Zack on the other hand, he makes us laugh, but also teaches us. Zack has encouraged us to continue persisting with our accounting and has used various methods of persuading us to do so

Money, we pay a lot, dont waste it (yea trust an asian to come up with that)
Shame, dont shame ourselves, dont shame his reputation.
He will fight for us to pass even if we dont
Threatening to bring back our old tutor if we dont do our work... =O
If we fail.. fate will bring us and our old tutor together next semester

He believes in us. Im not too sure that our other tutor did. I believe in him, that he can bring the group out of this little hole that we have dug ourselves into. I hope that everyone can pass at the end of the year.

I also got a new accounting tutor. He's pretty cool. Really gets into it when he's teaching. Today he taught us what to do if we couldnt remember the 16 ratios for accounting...

You grab a piece of paper about A7 size. And then you write all your ratios on it.. and then you fold it and fold it and fold it and fold it, then you hide it in any accessable place on your body, it could be behind your watch, behind your collar, maybe up your sleeve.. but it has to be this exact size, because if it's too small you cant fit everything. If you it's too big.. well lets say the person behind you sees you and he's like "HEY WHAT YOU DOING?!?! IM GOING TO GET THE CHIEF EXAMINER!" while he walks off to get him, you quickly scrunch it up and eat it. Imagine trying to scrunch up a A4 sized piece of paper and swallowing it...

Essentially he was teaching us how to cheat. Cool tutor rite?

Also things are slowly getting better after a hectic week at uni. I've just spent past two days in the library at uni doing a group assignment for Structures. Our task, to design a bridge. Cool right? Not really.. really tedious work and we have to write a massive report and then do an oral on it. Although we havent quite finished, we've finally gotten the report done, just the oral to work on now.

YES!! finally reached the 1/3 mark in regards to driving hours for my L's.

My log book now reads..

40hours 45 minutes

Today i went to CYSM training. It was.. tough, but i pulled through in the end. As a noobie, i had to learn the different stances then hold the stances for certain periods of time. We had barely even started at my legs were already shaking furiously. I have been told that i will be sore for the next 3-4 days and i would be surprised, im already feeling the after effects. There is a long way to go before i get to start playing with lions..

Things that i must improve on before the next training session is:

Posture
Tanking up legs
Learn how to punch properly

no need to comment on my curtains xD i know they're ugly

I also got a haircut, more like a thinning =] got the side fringe back, but it's still kinda short, but in the process of growing it out. Longer hair will keep my head warm during winter =] For some strange reason, my fringe is now on the opposite side, hairdresser said it is naturally to that side, but i swear it used to the be on the other cos i remember using my right hand to move the hair out of my eyes/hairflicking to the right side =P

As a Malaysian... I LOVE MALAYSIAN FOOD ZOMG

so since i suck at updating.. i think ill just update with nice Malaysian food.

First up is one of my all time favourite kueh's SERI MUKA/KUEH SALAT =]

It's bottom layer is glutinous rice flavoured with coconut milk =] and the top layer is a pandan flavoured egg custard. YUMMEHHHHHH mm my mum used to make it quite often but hasnt done it in a while so im thinking about trying to make it myself. perhaps ill give some to you =O and if i do ill certainly post it here with the final result.

yes i am addicted to minesweeper :) lucky jacky sing never reads this blog.. cos everytime i start to lost against him (hardly ever of course).. i use my bomb. And when i use my bomb i pretend to disconnect by blocking him for a minute. Afterwards i come back saying "sorry, i think the bomb made me disconnect."
Earlier, jacky played me and i was on the verge of winning. He decided to use his bomb and closed his game window.. at that moment i forgot about my "disconnection" and proceeded to say a few words xDD 10 seconds later i blocked him =D

Wheelers Hill updates:
-The strong winds from "black saturday" caused part of the fencing around the land that the sheep lived on to fall down.. the sheep escaped.. i wasnt fortunate enough to see one walking past my house =(
-Red Rooster closed down.. finally went bankrupt i suspect.. not my fault... o_O

YAY i am blogging again because i have finally thought of something to blog about. Soo today i went to Bob's kitchen for lunch =D had dumplings, some other dish and one of my favourites.. the taro (yam) pancake. The reason for it being my favourite is not only the brilliant taste, but the texture.. crunchy on the outside.. warm gooey chewy on the inside!

In there we were surprised to see someone that we hadn't seen for a long time. We saw the sister of the owner of Fortuna Village in China Town, which has closed down already ><.. She told us her brother has opened up a new restaurant in Nunawading. Supposedly it's famous for it's Peking Duck. I think i read that somewhere in the newspaper once. We also saw my dad's friend Peter. He's just bought a new Honda Civic. He's a nice guy.. regularly acting as a food critic for us, telling us good and bad restaurants.

After lunch we went into the neighbouring asian grocery which has reopened after a fire ripped through it. Supposedly the police have found no evidence to how the fire had started.. but i have my own opinions... At the moment, one of the other asian grocers in Kings Way called Win Sam owns about 5 shops. I suspect that they deliberatly lit fire to this grocer to try and get rid of their competition. Pretty cool theory aye xD

That grocery is my new favourite asian grocer due to the fact that they have so much imported food from Malaysia <3

SHANDY <3 Lemonade with a hint of beer. When i was 10 in Malaysia, my cousins from Kota Kinabalu introduced me to this stuff. I was addicted straight away. Oh and im allowed to buy it because shandy in a can has a very diluted alcohol content =D

HONEY STARS! <3 one of my favourite cereals in Malaysia. Also doubles as a nice crunchy snack xD

I didnt buy this, but i found it quite funny. I think it was tomato flavoured twisties, and as you can see... FOR SALE IN MALAYSIA ONLY o_o

Today i also went swimming for the first time in over 6 months. Me and my sister went to Monash Uni to use their pool. I dont think i've been there in over 4 years and it looks the same although everything seems smaller.. until you hop in the pool. So since there were lessons being held me and my sister decided to do laps. 40 laps of the 25m pool. not bad for a return.... o_o but it's okay im not a pro swimmer, i stopped after each lap xD and also decided to walk a few... i've also realised how unfit i am.. i got tired after 8 laps and also my arms were hurting after 5.. ><

Anyway this post has already gone for too long.. and i had more to say xD so ill post it for you another time.

HELLOOOO! i know i havent blogged in a while, so very sorry about that.

soooo.. this guy called tom loo introduced me to yam milk tea with pearls at bubble cup! It was weird but i liked it! it had a bit of a chocolatey taste to it though.. but i guess that's yam. So last weekend i went to glenny and walked into happy cup to get myself yam milk tea with pearl.... sooo i took a sip and... WTF IS THIS SHIT O_O

Sooo the day after was Wensi's party. We went to Waverley Cinema at pinewood to watch HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL 3! WILDCATS!! It wasnt as bad as i thought it would be... and then afterwards we went to maccas for a childrens party! brings back memories xD

So.. we were required to wear formal to her party... so that's why we're all in suits ><. We took this photo after watching the movie. Not bad is it xD

Sooo today i went to Hungy's house for his famous LAN party for the first time. So computer games included... CS, DotA, DoW and AoE2! We also played pool and table tennis in Hungy's wreck room. AND.. i beat stoof in spit! BUAHAHAHAA (i didnt cheat this time =D)

As some of us were getting a little hungry, me, Stoof and Clare went out to safeway to grab some snacks.. but instead Stoof decided she wanted to cook something to eat. So.. we bought some steak, gravy, potatoes, milk and cream and we made some pretty nice steak and mashe potatoes.. im sorry to say this.. but Clare u fail at cooking xD and also HUNGY CLEAN UR KITCHEN o_O (sooo like while searching through pots and pans.. we found many still coated in oil and one which still had quite a bit of oil still in it ><) *oh yes and stoof mashed a bit too hard and bent hungy's potato masher.... O_O*

Tastes of Singapore? MY ASS!

Today i experienced the worst tasting Malaysian/Singaporean food in my life. So me and my family went out for lunch to Tastes of Singapore on Clayton Rd (just letting you know so that you never go there). We had been there a couple of times before and the food there was great. Little did we know that the owner had changed. Once getting there we were surprised at how little customers were sitting in the small shop. At that point we should have realised that something was wrong and we should have gone somewhere else to eat, but instead we decided to walk in to the shop in readiness for some great southeast asian food.

So some Singaporean Indian lady walked out to great us and we were thinking:
"whoa who the hell is this person."
then we thought:
"oh crap new owners."

At the counter, we took about 10 minutes to decided what to eat, but the lady didnt care because SHE HAD NO OTHER CUSTOMERS TO SERVE. So we ordered the fish head curry special, mee rebus, 2 nasi lemak and some nasi goreng. We also ordered the satay special and a cup of teh tarik ice.
The shitness of the food was incredible. I had never tasted Malaysian/Singaporean/Indian food like it. It was truely amazing how shit the food was.

1. Nasi Lemak
Bad Points
- coconut rice failure
- sambal paste was not sambal paste, instead some weird assed mixture of chilli and some sauce
Good Points
- peanuts, boiled egg and ikan bilis tasted like peanuts, boiled egg and ikan bilis...

2. Mee Rebus

- did not taste at all like mee rebus
- didnt look like mee rebus
- was it even mee rebus?
Good Points
- Boiled egg tasted like a boiled egg

3. Nasi Goreng
Bad Points
- not fried at all?
- not warm
- my grandma was wondering why my sister was eating it and decided to taste it herself, the disgusted look on her face was priceless. Could also be counted as a good point...

- came with a piece of chicken that didnt taste like chicken.

4. Fish head curry

- infact was only fish curry
- barely any curry
- didnt taste anything like fish curry

- it was actual fish.. not too sure though

So at the end of it we though:

That was it. Overall i would give the place .5/5 stars just cos they actually gave us something to eat.
Need to find a new place with actual good Malaysian food, any suggestions?

But on a good note i saw something funny today on the way home from PEGS. We passed the Queen's School and someone took of the end of the 'n' and the sign said the Queer's School. hehehe

So.. i havent really been blogging much lately because i havent had my laptop and have been using the desktop computer in my parents room which means no privacy. This is because my laptop totally screwed up and came up with a couple of error messages.
1. Operating systems failed
2. Corrupt or missing file
Because of these 2 error messages i wasn't able to get onto my laptop. So.. i took my laptop to get it repaired by the IT department at school, the most incompetent department in the whole entire school. With this error message they proceeded just to re-image(which involves putting in a cd and wiping the harddrive clean) my laptop. Unfortunately my laptop crashed during this process so it took longer than expect... about an hour longer.
Taking the laptop home i turned it on and after about 5 seconds i got a BLUE SCREEN which automatically restarts the computer. Turning it on after that, it came up with the same two error messages. So i took the laptop back to school to get it fixed up. This time they said they would send it to the supplier to have a look over the weekend. On the monday they told me that the supplier had to replace some dodgey wires or something and they were waiting on parts so it might take a couple more days.
So now it is Thursday and they finally called me over to get my laptop back. The IT department lady told me to turn on my laptop to test it. The first thing that came up was the same error... OPERATING SYSTEMS FAILED... now my laptop will be resent to the supplier to get it checked out again and i probably wont have it back until next week.
STUPID FUCKING IT DEPARTMENT HURRY THE FUCK UP AND FIX MY FUCKING LAPTOP U LAZY FUCKING ARSEHOLE 40 YEAR OLDS THAT HAVE NO LIVES AND STILL LIVE WITH YOUR MUMS AND WONT EVER GET A GIRLFRIEND OR BOYFRIEND.

hey guys... it's saturday again so that means i played tennis for school.. and in 30degree weather too ><>

So.. i got promoted from seed #3 to seed #2 =) and this time we didnt lose our doubles 6-0 we lost 6-4... not too bad. it was an evenly match game, but this time i won my singles 6-1 =D yes.. i know i like to brag a lot xD

A bit later me and my family went to Glen Waverley for lunch at Yumcha Inn. When i first walked in there was this guy in shirt, tie and pants who i think was the manager.. and there was something weird about him but i didnt know what.. so half way through eating my 2nd Siu Mai.. i realised what it was... his eyes were HUGEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! i mean his pupils were like the size of a gobstopper.. and his eyes whoaaaaa.... it was so weird.. and he's asian too xD

Anyways so after that i went to Happy Cup and i went in to get my milktea and pearls... and they SOLD OUT of pearls O_O WTF?!

WOOOOO so i got FIFA09 and it is sooooooooo good.. the detail is so amazing... and the game play is better than FIFA08!

The only thing is.. when i got it, it didnt exactly look like what is shown here on the left.. it looked more like....

woot tennis season has started again in the agsv! except the bad thing is i dont get to sleep in on saturdays =( so.. today i had interschool tennis against Yarra Valley. We play 2 matches, 1 singles and 1 doubles and to decide the match we only play 1 set...

So.. i drove to school and I expected to play seed 7/8 cos i was supposed to play with Bryan who had never played before.. but instead they moved me to seed 3 and i partnered with this year 10 guy.. who is... pretty crap xD soooooo.. we lost the doubles 6-0 ><

So.. i played my singles match after that and in the first game i got to 40-0! and then i lost.. the first game... o-o but that was fine cos i won the next 5 games... then dropped a game which i should have won.. and then finished the match off 6-2! =D

House Drama!

ROBBED OF 5th place... nah probably deserved our 6th placing... stupid ben richardson that frigging dumbarse year 9 kid didnt turn up to our bloody house drama competition of snow white and the 7 dwarves... so instead we have 6 dwarves instead of 7.. o_O as well us having make last minute changes to the script.

anyway... after watching Clifford house do so shit yesterday in their house play and the fact that no likes ben sutu (who organised Clifford house play and dramatically overacted everything, for example running around the stage with his hands flapping around making a stupid sound and that frigging annoying stupid shit accent. buahahaha everyone made sarcastic laughs at him when ever he came out)... we decided to mock them at the start of our play. Almost half their play was 4 instrumental players wearing masks PRETENDING to play the violins, cello and violas with music playing through the speakers... so we decided one of us should walk out at the start of our play with a violin, play a bad note and then say "hmm maybe this wasnt such a bad idea". Supposedly the judges were laughing their heads off and sutu was fuming :)

here we have Chris Duong who played as a rabbit, a deer, the magic mirror and also decided to mock sutu at the start of the play. scary aye... Will got a little too carried away with the lipstick so he eneded up looking like the Joker.. so we decided to add in "WHY SO SERIOUS?!?!"

And i do believe Ms Wood said "OMG Cale is so hot" O_O oh u dont get to see the pink dress he is wearing...

hello all!

sorry for the lack of updating... just been a busy first week of school...

a week of school that included lots of house drama rehersals, cross country, tennis training in the morning and lots of hw and school... oh and not to forget camberwell's open day.

today has been quite an awesome day.. sleeping in, then having roti canai for lunch =D =D =D and then house drama rehersals going alright... and then i drove home from school for the first time ever. it was scary and yes i did speed a little on the freeway.. but i think i did alright...

So for Schofield house drama, we are doing Snow White and the 7 Dwarves. I am playing Bashful, one of the dwarves.. even though i act more dopey than i do bashful.

well i was supposed to be studying today but didnt manage to get too much done xD just a bit of gaming... which i havent done in a long time... but i did manage to do half of an accounting practise exam...

i had quite a good weekend!

saturday- GRANDFINAL DAY! and my beloved hawks came through it and won =D

didnt celebrate as much as i would have like cos i had relatives over from Singapore but was pretty high xD.. so we went out for dinner with our relatives and was quite good..

sunday- another pretty good day.. woke up bright and early to make our way to monbulk to see the tulip show... so many colours! parents dragged me along with some of their malaysian friends ><

that pretty much sums up my weekend.. pretty boring aye.. time to study for accounting!
